Paint Correction

Fix your finish — no body shop required.

Paint correction removes defects like scratches, swirls, wash marks and water spots from a vehicle's finish. Instead of filling in or painting over the scratches, correction permanently erases them from the surface. We offer three levels of correction based on the needs of the paint in question — Level One for light defects, Level Two for medium defects, and Level Three for the most severe defects.

  • 75%

    REMOVES ~75% DEFECTS

  • ERASES MEDIUM SCRATCHES & MARRING

  • CLEARS UP MEDIUM HAZE

  • REMOVES BONDED STAINS & ETCH MARKS

  • ADDS GLOSS & CLARITY

Level Three

Removes Scratches Big & Small

Simon's did a fantastic job polishing my paint. They get all the little minor scratches out that only car guys would see. Thank you, Simon's team!

Fixed Scratches from Another Shop

Simon's is the only place trust to keep my vehicles clean and detailed. I had tried a few other shops — one used a dirty rag and put scratches all over the car. Simon's fixed the scratches and became the only shop I will get my vehicles detailed!

Removed Imperfections Carefully

I had recently noticed a lot of road grime and specs/stains buried in my car's pearl white paint. Simon's carefully removed all of these imperfections without issue. They then polished the car and applied a protective coating that feels soft to the touch, dirt just falls right off!

WHY WE RECOMMEND ADDING A CERAMIC COATING

Adding a ceramic coating will lock in your newly perfect paint, add even more gloss to the finish, and will protect your paint for years to come.

While the Dr. Beasley’s Nano Surface Primers we use will work to restore the clear coat while correcting, a final layer of protection is required to ensure the corrected finish remains in good condition.

For that reason we absolutely recommend adding a Dr. Beasley’s ceramic coating application to any paint correction service.

BENEFITS OF A PROFESSIONAL-GRADE CERAMIC COATING

  • Durability up to 25 years*
  • Superhydrophobicity for water repellency
  • Contaminant resistance for easy cleaning
  • Chemical resistance against bug splatter & bird droppings
  • Natural self-healing of fine scratches*
  • Deep, ultra-reflective candy-like gloss

WET SANDING (UPGRADE FOR LEVEL 3)

Wet sanding removes the deepest paint defects, even the “orange peel” texture you can see up close. Because this procedure is so aggressive, we can only offer this service on vehicles with thick enough clear coat.

Not sure if wet sanding is right for you? Get in touch and we can help evaluate your vehicle’s needs.

Frequently asked questions

What is paint correction?

This is what people mean when they talk about “buffing out scratches”. Paint correction uses machines called polishers to level out scratches and other defects in the protective clear coat.

Depending on the severity of the defects and the softness of the paint, our paintwork technicians will use different combinations of buffing pads and correction products to address the defects to your satisfaction.

Are you repainting my vehicle?

Thankfully no! Paint correction only levels out imperfections in the clear coat and does not require repainting. That being said, we do offer body shop services if a repainting is needed!

Does paint correction weaken the clear coat?

Not the way we correct paint! As Dr. Beasley’s detailing studio, we use the Nano Surface Primer system when correcting, which restores the clear coat with nanotechnology as defects are leveled out.

Why should I have a ceramic coating applied after?

Adding a ceramic coating will lock in your newly perfect paint, add even more gloss to the finish, and will protect your paint for years to come.

Once the paint is corrected, an additional layer of durable protection should be applied to ensure the finish remains in the corrected condition. Ceramic coatings make the paint easier to clean, which reduces the amount of wash scratching introduced. Ceramic coatings also provide a sacrificial barrier against chemical etching from bird droppings and insects, as well as oxidation (color hazing) from the sun’s UV rays.

Can I learn how to do paint correction myself?

Absolutely — come to one of the Ales & Details workshops Dr. Beasley’s hosts at Simon’s and we’ll get you trained!

Can you fix defects caused by another shop’s paint correction mistakes?

Absolutely — holograms and other defects caused by poor quality of work are unfortunately all to common, so we’re prepared to address any detailer’s mistakes.
